The Evolving Item, Timmy was released on February 26, 2010. Its evolution completed on June 15, 2012. Now immortalized as an Evolving Item, Timmy was the spunky co-host/sidekick of Dr. Singh from the Evolving Item Report (EIR) which started November 12,2007. Each weekly report would inform the Gaian population of what was evolving and being released at the time. The reports also served as a stage for a sub-plot that centered around a chain of unfortunate events which befell Timmy, and it all started with Dr. Singh sealing him up inside a barrel of toxic waste. The event caused a chain of eruptions that lead to mutations, evil twins, puberty, premature adulthood, and Timmy taking a personal journey in spiritual enlightenment.
This item marks the 3rd item relating specifically to Timmy.
This items creation was the result of a voting total by Gaians, who voted for Timmy to become an Evolving Item.
Although the choice "To have a normal, happy childhood" did not come out on top, the item includes a young Timmy as a companion. Making him the second human companion to be released from an Evolving Item since 2007 with Orindae a creature Timmy was fond of.
Stage 13 marks the first time a wheelchair appeared on Gaia as an item. Though the disadvantage of the chair is that the sitting pose only comes in one skin tone.
On June 21, 2011 all the poses up to stage 18 were unlocked, which is the second for non-Rapid evolving item, the first being The Case of Pietro.
