The Hermes' Moon is an EI, or Evolving Item, that begins as a full moon and ends as a lovely white rabbit with golden ears among other items such as a cape and a scarf. This is one of the most popular EI's to date.

Lacus Somniorum means Lake of Dreams, Lacus Veris means Lake of Spring, Lacus Aestatis means Lake of Summer, Lacus Autumni means Lake of Autumn, Lacus Hiemalis means Lake of Winter, Lacus Doloris means Lake of Sorrow, Lacus Mortis means Lake of Death, Lacus Spei means Lake of Hope, Lacus Temporis means Lake of Time and Lacus Luxuriae means Lake of Luxury.
The rabbit in Autumni is pounding Mochi, which it later gives to its owner.
The story of the Rabbit in the Moon making Mochi is the Japanese version of the Man in the Moon.
