Featured Announcements is a subforum of Announcements. Before 2008, it held threads for announcements relating to the site's status and item updates. In 2007 it became a host for sponsorship and Gaia Cash notices.
In October 2016 it once again became the primary announcement forum as the staff had merged the Community and Featured forums together.[1][2]
