Bugs can be caught in Gaia Towns.
Hopping or flying their insectoid way through Gaia Towns are eight different types of bugs, some in various colors:
- Butterflies
- Red
- Yellow
- Blue
- Dragonflies
- Red
- Green
- Blue
- Flies
- Red
- Black (House)
- Beetles
- Red
- Brown
- Blue
- Grasshoppers
- Green
- Crickets
- Brown
- Cicadas
- Brown
- Fireflies
- Black
In addition, there are six rare bugs:
- Golden Legs
- Great Monarch
- Whistler
- Demonfly
- Rhino Beetle
- Purple Fly
Bugs are caught by clicking on them, and deposited in one's inventory in the same manner as flowers.
Once in possession of enough insects, a user can then make a trip to Durem Depot, run by Moira, and enter the Bug Exchange.
Insects can be exchanged for different colored inks.
50 of one color insect = 1 basic ink (Brown, Blue, Green, Red, or Yellow.)

There are also rarer inks that can be obtained by exchanging other types of ink.
Rare bugs also yield rare inks.
- 1 Golden Legs: 1 gold ink, 1 yellow ink, 1 green ink.
- 1 Great Monarch: 1 orange ink, 1 white ink, 1 black ink.
- 1 Whistler: 1 yellow ink, 1 black ink.
- 1 Demonfly: 1 black ink, 1 red ink.
- 1 Rhino Beetle: 1 brown ink, 1 black ink.
- 1 Purple Fly: 1 red ink, 1 purple ink.
