The bank in Gaia is currently only for trading between users; it does not store gold or give interest like a normal bank would.
Before you can trade between users, you must buy a trading pass for 500g. This is to stop people from creating mules just to get their starting gold.
You may also buy a Vending pass for 1,000g so you can have a 'store' in the marketplace. However, you only need the trading pass to purchase things from users shops.
