Whoa have we got some news! The following updates just went out...

Ad Removal We've removed the following ads from the site:

• Scorecard Research - Were you ever doing something on Gaia and then a random Survey popped open? Yeah, that was this thing. It's gone now.
• Second leaderboard ad in forums - You may recall that in forums there were two tall ads stacked on top of each other while looking at threads. There's only one now.
• Flat ad at bottom of threads
• Ad on the logged out page.

Runway

• Fixed a bug allowing votes to take place after a contest has expired.

• This is back up! It was down over the holidays due to some operational concerns but it's up and running once again!

It was brought to our attention that the Shameful Devil Slayer originally included in the third level of the Sweetly Sour Tier was previously released, and we’ve since swapped it out with the new Feisty Crafty Punk! Sorry for the confusion! If you previously reached tier 3 and would like to have Feisty Crafty Punk instead, please file a ticket at our Help Center and we’ll get that sorted for you as soon as we can.

Also, if you spent Gaia Cash between 10:40 and 11:05 AM PST on January 14th and your spending was not reflected in your tier rewards, please feel free to file a ticket at the Help Center as well. Apologies for the inconvenience!

Hey you Project Custom fans! Did you know if you ever decide you want extra copies of an existing item you've submitted, you can get additional copies by submitting the same ticket? For example if you used a Project Rainbow Ticket which comes with 25 copies, you may send anther Project Rainbow Ticket and receive 25 more copies of your item.

There are, however, some rules and exceptions:

• You MUST be the original creator who submitted the ticket to receive more copies of your item. This means this option is not open to everyone with a ticket. Your items will NEVER be given out to another user without your permission.
• Club Verge Custom SDPlus Box gives you one original copy. However, if you submit an extra Club Verge SDPlus Box you can receive 9 extra copies of your doll!
• Submitting extra copies of an Agate Ticket will allow you to grant your custom achievement to 3 other Gaians of your choosing!
• Extra copies of Obsidian will allow you to receive more copies of all the items but cannot restart your sale.
• Extra copies do not apply to Lapis, Emerald, and Amethyst Tickets.

The in-game shop has been updated with new items!

• -Resurrection Potion - Revives your kin after fainting in battle and restores 50% of your kin’s life.
• -Double Ally (single) - Doubles the ally points earned within 48 hours for a single kin. Level up your kin faster!!
• - Double Ally (all) - Doubles the ally points earned within 48 hours for all kin!

Also, when your kin faints you will have a chance to purchase a resurrection potion and continue the battle!

Hey everyone,

For those of you who participate in Runway, you may have noticed last Wednesday when Runway updates were made, that there was a daily grant when you voted which subsequently never came back! This was a glitch that was fixed today. The way this was supposed to work is when you vote for the first time in the day, you receive a stamp, collect all the days to earn a special item.

Sadly due to the glitch some days may be missing from your card and we will be unable to back-grant those days. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Moving forward, however, be sure to vote each day to collect gold and earn an item!

Reflecting on 13 Years

Ah, the joys of being parents... There are so many memories, you're growing up so fast it just brings a tear to our eyes. It's hard to believe you're so big and strong now.

Remember when we first conceived you in the basement? Oh we were so happy.

How about when you would keep us up late because you were fussy and couldn't go to sleep on your own? So many late night taking care of you.

Oh, oh! Do you remember your first oopsie? We had to change you so many times to get you to stop crying.

Let's think back to when you took your first steps, you started to become so independent and running on your own.

Sometimes you would get really sick though and we'd be really worried about you, so we'd take you in to get fixed.

Your first birthday party! You had so many friends come over and you got so many presents, and we gave out so many gifts to your friends for coming by.

You were always so good at putting things together, you made your first game that way too!

Do you remember setting up the lemonade stand? You were the talk of the town!

We found out so much about you when we took you to school, all those years of hearing about what you learned and educating ourselves with that knowledge.

You're growing up so fast, but in the end you're still our special little site and have a place in our hearts. So we're here to celebrate you finally becoming a teenager, the big 13 years old! What do you remember about Gaia over these past 13 years? Thank you for being a part of our family for so long, it's been one wild ride and there will be many more years to come. Just think about how crazy it'll be once you turn 18! So from all of us here at Gaia to you.

Hey guys, a few more fixes have gone out since the last notice. The fixes addressed, in addition to other things, avatar images stuck in loading state when a captcha is marked to appear but the refresh button is pressed instead of a vote; Hitting *enter after typing a captcha (which bypassed the javascript code needed to make the necessary requests to the server.)

'*The change to this may not work in all browsers but the salient point is don't hit enter, just cast your next vote.

Wooo! Looks like avatar builder is stable! This means that it gets to stay up now!

For that last test we had to disable a few key features:

• • Displaying Individual Poses of Items

We'll be re-enabling these features soon and monitoring to make sure it doesn't cause any problems! Likely we'll be able to test these later today or early next week. We'll keep you posted!

Hello! We’ve recently encountered a few people struggling to open the new Cupcake Confetti chance item due to a broken image on the screen that appears when the item is opened. The good news is that the item DOES work—for now, you can work around the issue by clicking on the broken image box, and it will open like normal—but the bad news is the image is broken temporarily.

We’ll have that fixed up as soon as we can, but we wanted to let you know about the workaround in the meanwhile! Sorry for any inconvenience!

Hello guys, lots of things have been happening with Runway!

A bug fix has gone out to address the issue of linking to older entries. If you tried to link to an entry image that was older than the present month, it would fail to load. This has been addressed.

Entry confirmation message: Some of you may have noticed that when you submitted an entry, the confirmation message was either missing or so high up it got masked and you couldn't see all of it. This was addressed by lowering the Y-axis position of that module.

Repeating contests: For those who participate regularly I'm sure this needs no explanation, but for everyone else... There is a cronjob that runs weekly to populate the next weeks set of contests. The list it used was a static list of contests so every week the exact same contests for the exact same type of Runway (free, gold, gcash) was being used. This has now been addressed by implementing a database of contests that can be added to by internal teams of which the contests are pulled by the cronjob and seven randomly selected for each contest type for the next week. This particular change will be visible after this month

Finally, item requirements have been added to Runway. At our discretion, some contest may require that you have a certain item equipped to submit your entry. This is to help add additional variety and challenge to contests. As an example the contest Journey to the South might require that you have equipped the Coy Soragoi (dress) item before it will allow you to submit your entry. If a Runway has an item requirement it will be listed in the description of the Runway.

Help Us Find Mis-Tagged Items!

Happy Monday everyone! So a little while back now we fixed a glitch where some tag words were not able to be searched on the Marketplace. Now that that's all fixed up, we'd like to make sure the rest of our tags are accurate!

If you find an item with incorrect tags (i.e. spelled wrong or the tags don't contain the item's name) please help point it out to us so we can fix it right up!

Animal Tab in Inventory

By popular request we've added an 'Animal' tab on the inventory page so that you can easily view all of your items for the animal bases in one spot! To make room for the new tab, we've moved the items that used to be under the 'Aquarium' tab to the 'Game' tab.

EDIT: After hearing your feedback we've decided to reinstate the 'aquarium' tag and instead get rid of the 'animated' tag since those appear in 'equip' anyway. However, these changes will not take place until Monday. So look out for the return of the 'aquarium' tag then.

Inventory Tabs Update

Aquarium tab is back! We were able to keep all the old tabs and still have the new Animal tab. However, some of the names are slightly shorter! For example, the 'Animal' tab is now the 'Paw' tab and the 'Aquarium' tab is now the 'Aqua' tab.

Thank you for all your feedback on this matter and we hope these changes make inventories a little more convenient for all!

For awhile now, people have been reporting a bug with the inventory arranger where sometimes the arranger would throw a hissy fit and randomly shuffle a bunch of items up if they got pushed to the next page. This should be fixed now!

Good morning! We've added a small update to the avatar builder. You can now export the avatars you dream up in BBCode so that you can easily post them in the forums!

It's right by the 'View Equipped Market Data' link. You just select if you want to export the avatar with a male or female base, then copy and paste! It doesn't quite work with Paw / Animal bases yet, but we are adding that feature very soon!

Huh... it's been a weird couple of days but I feel like... everything's fine?

Anyway! Here's a nice little Monday update: We've made a few little improvements to the Marketplace!

• 1. There is now a maximum of 30 slots.
• 2. You can now see commas when going to list an item. (Note: In order to see the commas, enter your price into the text box and then click on the white space of the listing modal. The commas will appear in your number inside the text box.)

UPDATE: At first this update made it so that manually entered commas disappear. This should no longer be the case!

Hello Gaians,

Orlando, Florida was devastated early Sunday morning when a gunman opened fire on a local LGBT+ club. There was a tragic loss of life and injuries sustained to many of those in the club. Such events are horrific and frightening, but in these times it's important that we show strength and solidarity to those who have been affected. User Run Event Help

Hey Gaians,

Are you someone that likes creating and running user events? Have you run user events before? Have you ever been curious about how to get help from Gaia with your user event? Or maybe you want an easier way to reach us? We're happy to announce that if you're involved in running or organizing your own user run event, and want to ask Gaia for help, we've created a simpler, more open way of asking for help. Simply e-mail userevents [at] gaiaonline [dot] com with the following:

• Who you are.
• What your site event is.
• What you'd like help from Gaia with (such as announcement, gold sinks, blog post, etc)
• When your event is schedule to go public.

Please keep in mind that this is to inquire about what Gaia can do. We make no guarantees that we will be able to assist with your event, but we will be happy to hear what you'd like and we'll see what we can do to. If you've already reached out to a staff member for an event that hasn't gone live yet, go ahead and e-mail us again so that we officially have it on record!

We want to take a moment to thank everyone who organizes and hosts user run events! You help continue to make Gaia a very fun and exciting experience for everyone.

A Lotl Joy Incorrect Pricing

Hello,

Due to an error on our part, A Lotl Joy (5 Pack) was available for 2gc for about two hours instead of the 299gc it was supposed to be on sale for. Unfortunately, this means that we are no longer able to sell this product and have disabled A Lotl Joy from being able to be opened. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience and plan to do everything we can to make things right even though we know many people will be disappointed that they cannot open the item they purchased.

For Those of You Who Purchased A Lotl Joy from the Cash Shop:

If you still have copies of the A Lotl Joy in your inventory, then please file a billing center ticket and an admin will work to quickly refund your Gcash! You will receive a refund of the amount of GCash you purchased yours for. So if you paid 399 GCash you will receive a refund of 399 GCash. If you paid 2 GCash you can receive a refund of 2 GCash.

For Those of You Who Purchased A Lotl Joy from the Marketplace:

There were very few of you who have done so since the error, so an admin will be in touch with you personally within the next few hours to refund your gold.

Inventory Issues

Not long ago we released a fix to a bug that caused items in people's inventories to shuffle while being organized. Unfortunately, this fix caused a much worse issue where many people had items get stuck in their temporary storage and were unable to use them.

We have undone this fix so everyone should be able to get their items out of temporary storage now! Our developers are also working on a different fix to the inventory shuffle bug, so hopefully we'll have an update on that soon.

Recently we were made aware of a bug with achievements where if you had two of the same title, you could not equip either. This bug should be fixed going forward!
