• January 2 - Evolving Item Report; Nestegg & Dander evolved, and the Dander completed its evolution. A new EI Wingding Shirt is released.
• January 8 - Holiday Stocking Contest - finalists for the Holiday Stocking Contest were picked, it was up to Gaians to vote for their favorite.[1]
• January 8 - Gold Shop update; Ritzy, Snow Goggles, Ice Hammer, Trashcan Fire, Beardhat, and Tsunami KO. Included was the annoucement of items leaving the Cash Shop: Evolving Item Bundle, 2008 Box Bundle, Far East Bundle, and Fish Bundle #1. At this time the voting for the Holiday Stocking Contest and more movies were added to Gaia Cinema. Ending the announcement was information regarding the limited-edition zOMG! Box and how there was a glitch that happened that made some not receive the Box. But Cindy informed Gaians that they will receive their item shortly and gave an apologize for the inconvenience.

Going Postal has been updated with new pictures, and admin informs Gaians that buying Gaia Gold is NOT permitted; encouraging Gaians to report advertisements of this matter. And including tips on earning gold by legitimate means: playing games, posting on the forums, shrewd Marketplace trading, or just selling old, unwanted items.

• January 23 - Evolving Item Report; Fallen Wish, Captain Ara's Nestegg, Jinxi's Charm, Nano-C and the Infernal Spirit evolved. While Gimpi completed its evolution. During this report Edmund brings a machine called "Suitomatic VII", this machine was created to remove the evil Timmy (T-bone) from Timmy's body. To get him into the machine Edmund tells him the gentle revolving action will steam-clean, dewrinkle and reshine his suit.
• January 25 - Gaia's birthday is coming up, so join the fun now and get involved with this momentous celebration! Included was admin wanting to know how members found out about Gaia Online. While the Daily Chance bonus update included Dancer Collar (9,000+ gold), Ronin Yukata (9,000+ gold), and Aquarium 2008 Winter Snow Crystal (7,000+ gold).
• January 27 - Aquarium update; Three new fish: Turtle, Blenny and Banggai Cardinal, also new terrain: snow, artificial grass, sand, and three bright and shiny new colors of pebbles. This is also the official announcement of the Booty Grab game.

• March 6 - Evolving Item Report; Gogh Reed and Yemaya's Pearl evolved, while the Fallen Wish completed its evolution, included in this annoucement was a drawing from the Gogh Reed artist. The report also informed Gaians that the Changeling Babies would be leaving March 13.
• March 7 - My Avatar: Brand Spankin' New - Dress up page has been updated. Features include: New improved look and layout, Faster avatar and inventory load times, Equipped items are easier to identify. Side note, the "Delete Avatar" option can now be found under account settings.
• March 7 - Community Spotlight: New Roleplay & Make Daily Chance Work. User run RP called Mystic Castle. For the DC, admin merely informs Gaians about how to turn it on and off.
• March 10 - Cash Shop update; new EI Nartian Rock is released.
• March 11 - Guilds: Improvements. The features included, Gaians able use up to five keywords and type a short desc for their Guild to clarify what the guild is about. The interface has been streamlined and cleaned up, and Gaians can now search for Guilds with 2 characters.
• March 11 to 15: Big Booty Week - assorted fish dropped Green Coins, which was worth twice the Gold. Included in the Daily Chance, the Hermit Cat was introduced.
• March 12 - Community Spotlight: Artistically Yours... Announcing Art shop by Gaian, Going Postal has new pictures, and admin informs Gaians about how to be Spotlighted.
• March 12 - Let's send Gaia to SPACE! - NASA was hosting a naming contest for the new addition to the International Space Station.
